Omoyele Sowore Supports Chess Master, Tunde Onakoya As He Attempts To Break The Guinness World Record For The Longest Chess Marathon

Omoyele Sowore is a Nigerian Politician, human rights activist, citizen reporter, writer, lecturer and pro-democracy campaigner, known for founding the online news agency Sahara Reporters.

In August 2018, he founded the African Action Congress party and ran as its presidential candidate in the 2019 Nigerian general election. Sowore also ran for President in the 2023 Nigerian General elections.

Just recently he shared videos and photos as he supported Nigerian chess master, Tunde Onakoya, who has attempted to break the Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon which started on Wednesday at the New York City’s TimesSquare.

He wrote:

“Today in New York City’s #TimesSquare with Nigeria’s Chess prodigy Tunde Onakoya @Tunde_OD in his quest to break a Guinness World Record for longest chess marathon as well as help African kids with #GiftofChess I was with Lookman Afolayan of @bukanewyork as he supplied fresh Nigerian Jollof rice and plenty of goat meat to keep Tunde going!
