How This 2 Sisters Were Awarded Full Funded Scholarships To Oxbridge, 10 Years Apart

Excited lady named Kachi Ginigeme has gone down memory lane of when she was awarded fully funded scholarship
10 years ago, in October 2012, she arrived in the UK for her LL.M programme at University of Cambridge after securing a fully funded Cambridge Commonwealth Trust Scholarship.

She is elated because her sister just had the same experience as she secured a fully funded scholarship as well to study for her MBA program at the University of Oxford.

2 sisters. Full scholarships to Oxbridge. 10 Years apart!

10 years ago, in October 2012 I arrived in the UK for my LL.M programme at University of Cambridge after securing a fully funded Cambridge Commonwealth Trust Scholarship which covered my tuition, accommodation, maintenance and airfare travel.

10 years later, my sister arrives in the UK for her MBA program at the University of Oxford after securing a fully funded scholarship as well covering her tuition, accommodation, maintenance and airfare travel.

Our journeys to both destinations were vastly different.

However, she makes it very clear that my journey inspired her greatly and showed her what was possible.

A LOT has happened within those 10 years in terms of my career and life.

I moved to the UK barely knowing anyone.

I navigated requalifying as a UK solicitor and building my career and network without much guidance and while becoming a first time mum.

I’ve won some, I’ve failed some and there’s been a ton of lessons!

I haven’t shared much about my experiences so far (at least not on LinkedIn!).

So I promised myself I’ll make a post on LinkedIn before the end of October.

First to say how thankful I am for both of our successes;

Second to inspire someone else out there to know it’s possible; and

Finally, to hopefully kickstart my journey to sharing more openly on LinkedIn some of the things I’ve learnt in these 10 years and beyond!
