Nigerian Man Who Worried About Not Having Food Back Then, Says He Has Gone From Scarcity To Sampling Cuisines From Around The World

Nigerian man named Adewale Adelodun Toyyib recounts hard days when he had to eat the same thing over and over again. Toyyib shared photos after visiting a restaurant, says he freezed whenever he sees restaurant menu, not because he’s picky, but because he’s still healing.

Toyyib shared how
back then, they worried about not having food, but now he worries about food going bad in the fridge. Says he has gone from scarcity to sampling cuisines from around the world.

In his words:

“I grew up in a home where food had two options: nothing… or one thing.

So when I see 40 items on a restaurant menu, I freeze — not because I’m picky, but because I am still healing.

That’s why, even today, I struggle to pick when I go out.

I’m that guy who says, “What are you having? I’ll have the same.”
Or I ask, “What’s the chef’s special?”

Because too many options? They still confuse me.

But here is what I never saw coming in my life.

Back then, we worried about not having food.

Now I worry about food going bad in the fridge.

From scarcity to sampling cuisines from around the world.

That’s not just a lifestyle change. That’s a mental upgrade.

And I know: if life can change for me, it can change for you too.

That is why I teach. Every single day.

Because poverty without guidance is hell.
And even success without wisdom is slippery slope.

So here’s my promise:

I will teach you everything I learn. I will teach you to win.

And if my content doesn’t help you in a few weeks—unfollow me.

But if it does?
Share it with someone else climbing the ladder.

Because wealth is a positive-sum game.

No one needs to lose for us to win.

We rise higher when we rise together.”
