“I Tried Killing Myself 5 Times” – Man Shares His Suicide Experience From Year 2017 As He’s Fully Recovered, Shares Motivation
CEO Bracibility Digital, Kelvin Waga has shared his experience while contemplating suicide in year 2017.
Sharing before and after photos on LinkedIn, he went further to share a motivational post, read below:
In 2017 I was at the lowest point of my life, I was undergoing depression, I just wanted to die, I hated myself, and everyone around me. All I wanted was to be alone. Everything around me seemed dark. It was so deep that I dropped from 90KGs to 49KGs.
Each morning I could wake up not sure where my life was headed, I reached a point in my life where all I thought of was to die to be precise, I tried killing myself 5 times and I went to bed thinking I wasn’t going to wake up. The more I tried to kill myself the stronger I woke up. Everything wasn’t working, my marriage, my personal life, my financial life.
In 2019 I saw the light after I had a conversation with my father and these were his words as tears were down his chicks.
“My son I love you so much, I have always loved you, never feel like you are alone, never feel neglected, I know you are seeing your brothers and sisters all working except you. I want you to know one thing, all of us are wired differently and everyone is destined for greatness. It is not a must you suffer in Nairobi come home my son, there is still plenty for us here at home.”
I requested my dad to let me go try one more time, if all didn’t work out I promised to come home.
What changed since then:
✨ I learned to love myself daily, think, and spoke about positive things only.
✨ Each morning I counted positive things that I was grateful off
✨ I decided to read a book every week even if it meant going without food just to get one
✨ I visualized who I wanted to be and each day I dedicated my actions and my thoughts to whom I wanted to be.
✨ Above all, I prayed to God to allow take one day at a time.
Yes, it worked each day my life kept on getting better and better.
Why am I sharing this, I know many people are feeling as if the world is not fair to them. If other people and I were able to overcome, you will overcome too.
